SITUATION:

BOND was chosen to furnish and install the natural gas supply point for the new Towantic Energy Center. The scope of work included the procurement and installation of a 1,300 SF precast concrete building, meter station assembly, filter separator, 1,000 feet of 16″ gas main, controls system, pressure test, gas main tie-in and all associated valves and equipment.

CHALLENGES:

  • Project required a Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule
  • Delivery of a complete project data book
  • Strict quality control measures needed for installed instrumentation

SOLUTIONS:

  • Weekly project and client team meetings to monitor project progression
  • Implemented reoccurring daily and weekly tasks that organized project work in a data book format
  • Developed course of action to resolve any issues and schedule adjustments

RESULTS:

  • Scheduled milestones were met and project was completed early
  • Delivered project data book to client in digital and hardcopy form that was thorough, organized and detailed
  • Successfully tied in project with no disruption to existing gas facilities and power plant construction
